RAMI extended mag feel
« on: December 01, 2008, 08:28:09 PM »
I was looking at the RAMI and was wondering how it handled with the extended mag. The poly version seems like it blends in very nicely, but what about the regular model? Is there a noticable differance in feel as you go from the thicker grip section to the slimmer mag section? I like that you can have a bigger grip for range shooting, and then a shorter one for carry, but the bigger grip is useless if it does not feel good.

I have a rami p with both the 14 rd and 10 rd mags.  The extended mag feels great in my hand while with the 10 rounder my pinky finger doesn't fit on the mag but still quite comfy to shoot.  But I don't have the steel version of the rami.

This is also an option, the Springfield XD mag extension which does not increase capacity on the 10 round magazine but does give the pinky finger a place to rest for all but the largest hands. I installed one for my Rami and love it.

I also love the feel of the extended factory 14rd mags. Just like a full size frame with the extension. The Pearce grip extensions work well too. I can get all 3 of my sausages around the grip with the pearce extensions. I did have to sand down the Pearce extensions to make them fit.

The extended 14-rounder on my alloy 9mm RAMI feels just fine!  Just wish that they were not so expensive from the factory!

The 14 round mags on my all alloy are fine. They fit and fill as if there is no change in the size from the grip to the extension. Now as for the 10 round I hated the fact that I couldn't get a full grip on it. So, I took the advice from several forums and purchased the Pearce XD extension. With a little modification with my Dremel and some polishing its turned out great. I would highly recommend purchasing the Pearce extension. You would think as much talk as there is on the 10 round mag and the lack of getting 4 fingers on it, CZ would come out with an extension so, we wouldn't have to do the modifications ourselves. But for $15 or so, it's worth it..

How 'bout lots of pictures of the extension work so many readers have worked up.

As a side note though, does anyone know of an extended mag being made for the RAMI? I see higher capacity mags for the 9mm, but not for the .40. It would be nice...............

Thanks,

I would like to know if one should use the Springfield XD extension for the XD45 to put on the Rami 40 cal. magazines, or does it matter? ???

Are the sleeves for using the 14 rounders with the 2075 loose (like the ones Kel-Tec uses), or are they fixed in place? If they are not fixed, does anyone have suggestions for an adhesive to lock them in place?

Also, read one post here complaining of feed problems in the 2075 with 14 round mags. Is this common, or just one guy with a problem?

Thanks.

The extensions can be slid off the 14 rd magazines, are certainly not loose.  No need for adhesive at all.  I just ran several mags through my Poly this evening.  No issues with any of mine.

Got three more from CZ last week while there were on sale for $30.  One of these nights I'm going to run the Rami in Production class just because I can.   ;D

Thanks. The extensions for the Kel-Tec P11 are loose, and can be a real PITA. This sounds better.
