New P-07 Owner

Bought my CZ at gun show on Saturday.  Set up a target in backyard and put 6 rounds through the gun.  Three by me and three by my son.  After my first round, second round would not fire.  I waited a few seconds and pulled trigger again.  Still no bang.  Racked the slide and tried again.  Still no bang.  looked down and noticed the magazine had dropped about 1/2 inch.  Apparantly, I hit the release without knowing it.  Repositioned my hand and it did not happen again.  Went to range today with my son and we put 100 rounds through the gun.  We shot Georgia Arms G9MME-2  147 GR lead round nose flat points.  We purchased these at the gun show as well.  My son owns a Glock 21 and really liked my new CZ.

I am experiencing a problem with the slide not staying open after final round is shot.  I was using one magazine and my son was using the other.  The slide would stay open for him, but not for me.  At first we thought maybe a magazine issue until we switched mags.  He used the one I had used and I used the one he had used.  Same issue.  Slide stayed open for him, but not for me.  Am I possibly doing something in my grip to not allow the slide to work properly?  Any ideas will be appreciated.

We were both impressed by the feel and accuracy.

I tore the gun down and cleaned it after we got home.  The lead rounds really made my barrel a lot dirtier than the FMJ's we shot through my son's Glock.  I remember reading somewhere that due to CZ barrel design the lead rounds are ok to use.  I'll just make sure to clean it with extra care until all the lead rounds are gone.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

My CZ was the first the range owner had seen and he was impressed with it.

Look forward to your responses.

welcome, and congrats on an awesome handgun.  i also have a p07 and my first shots through it will not lock back after last round fired, but after i put couple of mags through it, locks back now no problems.  probably needs to be broken in
