cz527 m1 .223 stock & mag problems
« on: July 05, 2011, 12:33:22 PM »
got a new  527 m1 3 shot synthetic a few weeks ago, had problems with the mag feed, bolt would skip over the round & chambered roughly.before returning it to the distributor i took it to a custom rifle builder and as a favour he would look at it.   firstly the trigger guard (mag housing) was not fitting tight against the action while in the stock. he removed the stock then placed the guard up against the action it was a perfect fit into the guide ring . a little tweaking a rub or two of wet & dry replaced the guard and stock every thing mated perfectly. he explained that it is very easy to assemble the rifle and create this fault(a point explained to me on another wed site) as the stock to action mounting screws will still fit ito the two plastic pads, i suppose you could them pillars even with the mag housing not allined. secondly he machined the jaws of the mag very slightly again finishing of with the wet & dry, the spring was also compressed slightly , this had the effect of the round sitting slightly higher in the mag, so therefore more of rear of the round is caught by the bolt face the rifle now  chambers possitivly & smoothly. i must also say if i would choose the timber stock if buying another, as i think the plastic one is to slight. i have a steel sound moderator fitted, when walking briskly or leaning on a post, branch ect, you can feel the foreend of the stock flex & touch the barrel.
