the back of the trigger bar, hooks on a small little thumb of the base of the hammer I believe that is how the double action works. if it is on safety after using the decocker, you can not pull the trigger, the safety is blocking the trigger bar. if not on safe, there is a curve on the back of the trigger bar, that hooks a notch in the base of the hammer, and that is what pulls the trigger back.
If you know how to take the side plate off, you should be able to see the things that happen in there. possibly, the hammer nut is just loose so the trigger bar is not grabbing the hammer correctly? also, you can see how the safety works with the side plate off, maybe it is not rotating to the correct position or something.
