CZ 52 ? Restoring the Decocker function
« on: June 02, 2009, 04:26:19 PM »
Although I have the Harrington firing pin kit, I can see good legal reasons for restoring the decocker function of the CZ 52. Mine does, in fact, operate as an auxiliary trigger.

Which inner parts there at the back of the slide must be replaced to solve this problem?

Many thanks, folks.

All you should need is the O.E.M. profile firing pin:

                          --OR--

That and the existing 'firing pin retractor/lock' should restore the decocking function.

Only if the trigger is pulled, elevating the sear lever and depressing the f-pin retractor/lock can the stock firing pin extend forward into the chamber striking the primer.
The ext./lock prevents full extension of a stock profile f-pin if the hammer is dropped or you try pressing the f-pin with finger or tool.

I thought I understood that the Harrington replacements disabled the decocker.

To the best of my knowledge only those of non-standard profile disable the firing pin block function of the retractor/lock which disallows safe decocking lever use.

I have the other supplier's (BCA Industries) OEM style pin in my pistol... it decocks safely.

I can now confirm that the Harrington replacement set makes my decocker an auxiliary trigger.
