CZ-82 Barrel Question
« on: June 14, 2009, 06:26:43 PM »
I was at Cabela's today and they have a CZ-82 in their new gun section.  It was obvious that this was a used pistol from the wear on the slide.  The guy that sold me my P-07 told me that the 82 has a smooth bore except for the very end of the barrel and that is where the rifling begins.  Is this true?  I don't know enough about the gun to say yes or no. Also, they wanted $299.00 for it. That seemed kinda high.

The CZ-82 (vz-82) has what is called polygonal rifling. it does appear smooth but it actually is somewhat "wavy." I have one and it is an extremely accurate pistol. It uses the 9x18 "Makarov" round.
$299 is kind of high if you can find one at a gun show or somewhere you won't need to do an FFL transfer.
Good luck.
I have a CZ and some other guns.
I really want to have more. That's not a bad thing.

Call the folks at CDNN.com

They are selling excellent grade CZ-82's for 189.99 and they come with one mag.

They charge around $23 for shipping no matter how many you purchase.

I purchased two of the 82's in excellent quality and a few extra mags.

Both 82's are amazing in quality. In fact one of them I don't think was ever issued! Both arrived wrapped in their plastic bags of grease, and one had minor wear at the tip of the slide near the barrel, but the other had no visible frame wear and the barrel looked unused.

Order yourself one from them. You will not be dissapointed!

I can second drnickles reply... CDNN is the place. Very friendly and helpful folks and quality of the guns is top notch, not only did I purchase one from them but I have steered friends there as well and every gun ordered (CZ 82) in the excellent to like-new is exactly as they state.

drnickels and HuskernTX,

Just curious, do you guys hold type 01 FFLs, or did you order your 82s through a type 01 FFL, or what?  I ask because I called CDNN today intending to send them a copy of my type 03 FFL and was told they do not sell to C&R holders.  I purchased a CZ-52 from them several years ago with no problems, so I guess they have changed their policy.

I just had mine shipped to a local gun dealer I always do business with. $15 for the transfer was fine especially for such an awesome gun, for such a low price.

I also had one shipped from CDNN to an FFL holder here in McKinney, TX. The gun arrived in two days and the gentleman I did business with charged $17.00 for the transfer.

Got to the ATF web site and order the forms needed to get an 03 C&R FFL and you can have CZ 82s shipped right to your home.
