A lot of money and tax stamps for something that no longer hits at long range. Nifty, if you like rifle/pistols, but would be more useful as Short Barreled Rifles, with stocks. Same tax stamp. COnvert a vz-58 to a pseudo Krink style, that would be cool.

I don't believe you need a stamp if it is a pistol. Build one from a parts kit and register the receiver as a a pistol.

ATFE says the reciever must be registered as a pistol, can never have been made for a rifle, or it becomes an SBR. Can you make your own, or have a special one done?

In my opine, a stockless semiauto carbine, or pump shotgun,

For that matter,

Works about as well as a two legged dog.

The legs, of course, being on alternate corners.

On the other hand, add a single point sling, and might make a good RV gun or such, something where tight manuevering is the norm, and can't use/afford an SBR, but still want the punch of a rifle round. Not to mention, just a fun range toy, too. Can't add a forward grip without ATFE involvement, unfortuntely, that would help a lot.
That had to have been a custom build.

It would be more of a toy than anything. I do not even know of a company who is selling receivers made as pistol receivers. However, ORF might would make one custom, but it would probably be costly. It is my understanding that as long as the receiver cannot be made to accept a butt stock it is considered to be a pistol.

Also, a single point bungee sling would act somewhat like a stock since it would help steady it.

What I was told is the reciever must be marked pistol only, and have been built as a pistol reciever only, not a converted rifle reciever. Best to get with Dan at Czechpoint, I'll bet he would have a lot more info on that one.
Still would be a fun range toy, or, equipped with laser and flashlight, an interesting house gun.

any virgin receiver (never before assembled as a complete firearm) can be legally used as a pistol receiver, provided that the stock attachment is removed prior to assembly.

While the VZ58  is a pleasant and accurate rifle to shoot with a full stock I'm not keen on a pistol version. Well aimed shots would be difficult if not impossible and recoil would make it harder to control on follow up shots. It looks neat, but doesn't seem practical. The little VZ is short, light and easy to move around the house with as is.

ObiWanBonJovi is correct.  Our stripped receivers can be made into a pistol.

I know Czechpoint deals with SBR lowers. How short can the barrel get without having problems with cycling properly?
