I had the exact same problem with my 97 when I got it new last December. Almost sold the gun then and there.

Sent the gun and both factory mags back to CZ. CZ polished up the feed ramp and replace both factory mags with mecgar.
Now she runs perfect every round. Shot maybe 600+ rounds since CZ did the work and I can say my 97 is now a 100% reliable feeder.

Are you shooting reloads or factory?

What type bullets are you shooting?  200 or 230 gr?  Ball, SWC, or RNFP?

My 97 is VERY picky about OAL of its cartridges.  Seems to like longer better than shorter.  If you are not shooting 230 gr. ball (factory), give that a try.  If you are, a trip to CZ for your gun is probably in store.

the mecgar ones are very hard to find

Check the MecGar Witness .45ACP mags at Greg Cote LLC.

i am shooting everything from 200gr RN to 230RN lead and FMJs also hollow points, i have shot factory and reloads. it feeds fine as long as i only load about 7 rounds in the mag but anymore then that and rounds nose dive into the feedramp its almost like the angle of the mag feedramp is not high enough i was wondering if anyone know s any special mods to fix this? i have polished the feedramp on the barrel also but i dunno i love my 97 but dunno its kinda getting on my nerves

Yeah my factory mags works fine but the magazines I bought from Greg Cote and czcustoms.com both nose dives when I put more than 7 rounds in the magazine. Hopefully someone will come up with a fix.
