Take down guide with trigger.
« on: December 13, 2011, 05:54:55 PM »
I for the life of me couldn't find any relevant info on the VZ 58 trigger take down. Only one i did find was a czed 858 of Canaduh  (::) Sorry In minnesota we have to give our neighbors to the north a little crap eh?)and they have different internals then we do... So i just went in head first hoping it was deep enough...

And to who ever makes these rifles US compliant... Concerning the Bolt and the Disconnect

Pretty clever... Simple
Every body should know these steps for the field take down, Really simple. Just pop out the 2 pins, Remove the upper hand guard and piston.

Push in on the receiver cover first

Then straight up just enough to clear as you pull it out. If you go up to high the spring will bind as you pull.

Slide the Bolt Carrier back all the way and lift out

Pull the Striker out almost all the way giving it a twist counter clock wise to clear the lip

The Bolt and the Locking Piece Will come out freely.
Remember the locking piece goes up on re assembly

Now before you go medieval on its ass and start bashing the Pins to knock them out REMEMBER to remove the E-Clips first! Youll have a fun time bashing away and probably end up breaking the E-Clips in the process If you don't get them first

Close up of E-Clips, hard to see with bad camera..

I just used the Needle end of the Cleaning Kit to get under one edge of the E-Clip and pry it up. It might shoot but wont go far, KEEP TRACK OF THESE

I do these in order of 1-2, completely remove the Sear then move on to Trigger assembly And it helps to prop it up on something. I Like to hit some books every now and then so they will do the job.

Remember to visualize how they went together before you take them apart

Once you take it out chances are itll fall apart and you should have all these parts in front of you

If you are like me and like to FLITZ polish where metal rubs on metal, this is a good point the hit, Where Sear latches on the Striker

Now move on the Trigger assembly once you have that out of the way.

Pushing trigger up from bottom and wiggle it up a bit

To get it past the Safety Catch give the trigger and Disconnector a good squeeze together so it can slip past.

Now is a good time to clean where the sun dont shine

I like this view... idk

Now clean everything, Replace any thing as far as USA triggers go or what have you, Oil where metal rubs on metal, and put her back together.
Remember to squeeze the trigger to get the Striker past the Disconnector

If anyone needs any other Special picture lets me know.

Just curious as to why the gloves are used during take down but not when handling the inner parts?

Ha. Started out caring not wanting to wipe off the finger prints... Then gloves tore... SO to hell with it. I have enough silicone rags that its not a problem.. Just a habit I picked up from my parents, Have an old S&W revolver that has been kept mint buy rubbing off the oil left by the skin. Gotta keep it that way.
