The LGS smith finished the parkerized gray Duracoat job on my 52.  He did a very nice job.

Most definitely.

This is now my favorite full-sized handgun and vying for favorite handgun over all, fighting against my Kel-Tecs which have a massive concealability edge.

Also like the Damascus nail file you have there!  Is a German maker?

The blade is marked "ITALY"  below the maker glyph which appears to be a stylized bird's head facing to its left.  On the right hand side of the brid's head, under its beak, is what I assume is the maker's name but I can't make out what that is.  The contrast of the scribed/stamped metal against the contrast of the differing steel layers just mixes it too much for these old eyes to pick what from which.  It might possibly be "ALLEN" or "ALLIN" but might not even be close to that.

I bought it online some years ago just because, well, I always wanted one.  :)

Sweet!  And the grain striping in the grips really makes it look top notch.

Seeing that pic is pressuring me to pull the trigger on purchasing an unissued CZ 52 that I've seen online.  I'm really getting weak with impulse buying.

The wood is Bocote.  Bought from Bud Wilson's "Dixie Grips."  I posted the gentleman's contact details in an earlier thread.  The readers digest version is: Buy his stuff!  Very communicative and easy to work with.

I was going to mention the slide stop before you were asked about it. It cured the problems I was having with slide hold back. I only put it on because the original was falling out.
