Range Time
« on: May 13, 2010, 05:52:52 AM »
I got to take my two clones out to the range yesterday.  I have a TZ-75 and a Witness Compact.  I took some 115gr. WWB and some 124gr FED. Am. Eagle.
Both are fine shooting guns.  I did find that the Witness prefers the WWB(or, maybe it just likes 115gr.).  The TZ shot well with both, but did have tighter groups with the Fed.(or was it just 124gr.?).  Using the Fed. in the TZ, I was tearing up the center of the target I had out.  I just bought this gun Monday and I am real happy with it.
The Witness is capable of good accuracy, but it didn't seem as consistant as the TZ.  I probably need to work with it more.  Most accuracy problems are with the shooter, not the gun.
I did discover that the Witness will work with the full sized magazine in the TZ.  It sticks out the bottom some, but it locked in place and, other then one FTF, it ripped off a whole mag without issue.
All in all, a pretty good way to spend some time after work and blow off some steam.

I've got a pre-88 TZ75 myself and it doesn't seem to care what gets fired through it.  Bulk, premium, 115, 124 or 147gr, hollow points and FMJ, I even shot some cast lead that I reloaded and all of them cycled just fine in both the CZ75B and TZ75 I own.  I try to keep 147gr. hollow points for both my 9mm pistols, but when supply is short I'll shoot whatever is available.

This is just a heads up, but this thread will probably be moved soon.  The moderators don't like range reports in the appropriate handgun forum.  They feel anything with the word "range" in it should be posted in the "Day at the Range" forum under the "General" category even if the thread is only referring to CZ clones, or Stainless CZ75B etc. etc..

They also like to demand "...PICTURES!" of said range visit.

Thank you eric.
And to the mods; I'm new here.  If I put this in the wrong place, please move it. Thanks.
