New guy here with a couple questions....
« on: June 05, 2010, 12:35:49 PM »
Ok, well I picked up a po7 for my wife, and immediately fell in love. The trigger, the ergonomics, the accuracy, love it. Anyways, of course then I start pouring over the net for info. I find the info about the problems encountered, and start checking the gun over. Mag drops about half an inch every time, all the way sometimes, this is not a huge deal to me, as I use a tactical reload anyways, I am sure that it has the frame bulge, also not a big deal to me. Then I find the info about the guide rod, mine has the polymer rod. Should I be concerned with this, or let it go until i have issues? I must also be one of the few who actually like the factory sights, i find them just what I need.

I am now in the process of trying to pick a holster....ahhh the saga continues. Guess its time to post in the holster section...lol.

Glad you like your P-07.  I feel the same about mine.  When new I had one mag that dropped free and one that did not.  Eventually things loosened up and both drop free now.  I have a SS guide rod in mine but it was just a choice for me.  I had no trouble with the polymer one.  I have a holster from High Noon on order, but it's a 3-4 month wait.  Good luck with whatever you decide.

I've got several thousand rounds through mine and I still have the stock polymer guide rod, no issues so far.  I've thought about buying a stainless one, but like others have said, it's purely personal preference.

I love my P07 too, shoots straight and makes me feel like a much better shooter than i am... can't hate that.

I did have the mag drop issue with my first one, but they were tight enough that they didn't drop at all.  Even tactical reloads were difficult like that.

Just got back from the range. Put another 150 rounds down the pipe. No FTF, FTE, nada! Even my mags seem to be loosening up and dropping more freely. The accuracy still amazes me and my shooting buddy. It is right on par with my custom 1911, and far exceeds what my initial expectations were for this gun.

I had the same problem with my Duty, mags kept sticking and not dropping out like they should. I sent it back to CZ-USA and they remedied the problem by FED-EX-ing me a new duty. I have appx. shot about 1000 rounds and the mags still drop free and the polymer rod is working perfectly.

CZ has a belt holster similar to the Blackhawk Serpa holster.  El Paso Saddlery will make a holster for you, cost probably in the realm of $50-80 dollars.

I have the 11190 version belt slide M size holster - and want to get the finger release button to replace the filler piece it came with.  Holds the gun nicely with tension.  My wife could not remove my blue gun when trying to pull it ut standing behind me.
