correct front sight height for kadet w/ factory rear sight
« on: June 24, 2010, 11:43:51 AM »
I did a search and found three threads with three different recommendations (5.5, 6.5 and 7.5).  Can you tell me the current recommended height for a FO front sight on a kadet with the factory adjustable rear sight?

I also have the same question for a 85 Combat, but it seems like the standard 5.5 is the correct height.

Thanks

Steve

5.5mm is the same height as factory front sight, should be used on factory gun with factory rear sights

Not to be disrespectful to Angus, but according to Rob and my personal measurements, it's 6.5mm.

Factory front sight are 5.5mm, they always have been, CZ regulate the sighting in with a  different rear sight.

Appart from
P07 5.25mm
TS 7.5mm

Mid April this year I asked the same question.  Below is my email and the reply - based on which I purchased my FO sight.  And loving it.

-----Original Message-----

I want to replace the standard front sight on my Kadet conversion kit with a FO front sight. I do not wish to replace the rear sight.

----Answer-----

7.5mm x 1.0 or 7.5 x 1.5 would be the correct sight height.

Well, I took the calipers to the stock kadet and CZ 85 Combat front sights today, measured from bottom of sight base to top of blade.  To clarify, the measurement is the height of the blade PLUS the thickness of the base.

85 Combat (same as 75B) = 5.5mm

Kadet = 6.5mm

Interesting.

I want to replace the standard front sight on my CZ pistol with a Fiber Optic front sight.
I do not wish to replace the rear sight. What size do I need?

CZ factory pistols (exception is the TS and Kadet which both come with 7.5mm High) are fitted with a 5.5mm High front sight (when measured from the bottom of the sight to the top of the sight, with the sight OUT of the slide).
So the correct sight for a factory gun would be any 5.5mm replacement sight we sell.
