Is It Worth $500?
« on: June 07, 2007, 11:17:26 AM »
My local shop has a NIB 1991 CZ85, with one mag, original box and all accessories for $500 OTD.  Is it worth the asking price?

They are asking way too much in my opinion!

Given that CZ factory magazines are $35 that would make the actual cost $535 to get one "as new" since they came with two mags. If you look around you should be able to get a NIB CZ-85 COMBAT for less than that.

I'd say the price should probably be more like $350 to $375.

That's way too high for a used CZ85 with only one mag.  A dealer near me has brand new CZ85B's complete with two factory mags for $400 and other dealers are about $425.

The Combat version adds only about $25-$40 to the new price.  Look elsewhere.

Thanks for the comments.  Just to clarify, it's NIB, new in box and it's a 1991, making it a CZ85 and not a CZ85B, if that matters.

SASDesertRat,

If it were REALLY NIB it would have both magazines. That can be a bargaining chip if you want, because if they are asking $500 because they think it's a collectible it is MISSING a magazine and they have changed magazines plenty over the years so even if a new one fits it likely won't be exactly the same.

If that's what you want then a pre-B will be worth more than a B model, but not much.
