Any one using these rear sights ??
« on: June 01, 2011, 09:27:20 PM »
If you are using these how do you like them, and did you install them yourself. I would like to change the rear sights, They say they will work with the stock front sights. my eyes just don't see very good any more I think these would help. I have a 75b-40.

They do look like the LPA sights at CZ Custom with the same options.

If you are having trouble seeing the sights fiber optics work wonders. I have crappy eyesight too. For a range gun the cz custom competition rear with a fiber optic front is nice. I also have a 75 compact that I installed a fiber front sight with the stock rear and that works pretty good too.

That is the same sight that is standard on the CZ85.   It will fit the dovetail on the current model 75 as well.

I have the TPU rear sight on both of my 75B's.  I installed them myself...the installation is easy once the old sight is removed, but in removal one of mine was easy and the other wasn't.  I padded the slides with 1/8" leather and clamped them tightly, but not too tightly, in a 4" vise.  The slides were set so the emerging sight just cleared the vise jaw.  My 75B SS came out with moderate taps with a brass drift.  I had to pound the snot out of the black 75B using an old steel nail set ground to a point to get that one out (I tried the brass drift, but it slipped and dinged the polycoat).

I do like these sights at lot, but they do interfere with cocking the hammer.

They remove by sliding to the left.   You can confirm that by looking into the dovetail and you will probably see that the poly finish is marred on one side but not the other.   For other finishes you may see evidence of the direction of installation.
