I was wondering if it was possible to fit a 85 combat with a .40 barrel from a 75 B?  What would be required, and would the frame and slide hold up?

The .40 s&w 75B is not the same frame and slide as the 85 Combat.  The .40 s&W uses a full-length guide rod, the frame is beefier, etc.   The barrel is bigger around and would not fit the slide,  headspace will be wrong, and the extractor won't work.

Its considered safe to move down from .40-based gun to .357 Sig or 9mm.  But to make this work, the  new smaller caliber barrel must be custom-designed for the conversion -- a stock barrel won't work.  (The .40 barrel wouldn't fit in the slide of the 9mm; the 9mm barrel in a .40 slide would be so loose, as to have crappy accuracy if it could be made to fire.)

It won't work.  It won't be safe.  You'd need a new slide, other parts.  It would be cheaper to find a used .40, or find a .40 and get a Bar-sto 9mm barrel.

So is BarSto capable of producing a 9mm barrel for .40 gun for conversion purposes ? I haven't seen that options on their web site and I'm afraid that by purchasing a 9mm I will get the same barrel as from CZ and this stock barrel doesn't work in .40 gun ( as you have already mentioned). Do I need also other stuff to do the conversion right ( magazine, slide, .. ??? ) ?

Thanks

Bar-Sto CAN make a barrel that will convert a .40 to a 9.  A number of guys I've talked with have done it with their SIGS.  Its become a popular market for Bar-Sto.

Whether they are ready to do the same for a CZ remains to be seen, but since they makes barrels for CZs, its a possibility.

How much said barrel might cost, however, remains to be seen.  Since there's not an established market for this conversion, it may prove to be cheaper to buy a new .40  (sigh).

You need to visit their website, get their number, and then call them.

When they do their conversions, they modify the new barrel so that (generally speaking) nothing else needs be done.  No need for new extractor, headspace is correct, etc.

Since you were talking about getting a .40 barrel for you 9mm Combat -- which can't be done -- and keeping the slick 85 Lower,  none of this looks particularly attractive.

You might be better off just buying a CZ-75B SA, and keeping your 85 Combat as your "other" favorite gun.

Hi, another vote for a CZ85 COMBAT or 85B series in .40!

Bar-Sto can make most anything, if he has the time
and specs .

I'm hoping to see my Bar-Sto Cz75 9mm barrel any day now. Then maybe if we are lucky, he will make some
10mm barrels!

People buy the 85 Combat and 85s for their workmanship
and ambi features. Enhanced 75Bs, with nice sights, ect.

precise sights, adjustables triggers. and very accurate.

With the Bar-Sto it would be even more accurate. The
9mm barel in the 75B .40 offers cheaper practice ammo
and even a more accurate 9mm tube.

The .357 SIG barrel is TIGHT, as in close tolerences..
it screams Accuracy.I can see why people love his work.

I'm getting inquiries about Bar-Sto barrels for shooters
who run TZs/Witnesses, and want even more accuracy from their tanfoglios.

His website wil be updated. Until then contact him with
any CZ/TZ barrel questions.

barsto@eee.org  don't forget to ask about
the CZF Discount.
