So what are the visiting hours for this museum?

My blog: http://whoisinthewhitehouse.blogtownhall.com

Daisy lever BB gun.

Not listing my guns here anymore.

Let the government figure it out!

Lots of rocks and stones, and pretty good with a slingshot!

That is impressive, but you are missing a CZ550 Magnum Classic in 500 Jeffery :). You need to go out and buy one and tell me what it's like. ;)

I did have one of the semi-auto 22 magnums many years ago - fun rifle that one. They weren't popular and very under-rated. It got caught up in a nation wide semi-auto ban and I had to hand it in. I think they destroyed it (thank you John Howard, the then prime minister who instigated the idiotic buy-back scheme which achieved nothing).

DO you have one big family portrait?  Everyone together around the picnic table at one time?

Strictly invitation only. Very few people know where they are and even when in the same building you can easily walk past the hidden room. Then there are all the security sensors that you have to pass before even getting to the room and once there the codes and locks to obtain access are highly rated by the police and monitored by a security company

Very few people have ever been there though a few authors have spent some time researching some of them for articles they have written or are writing.

What do you want the 500 for? I guess you have the ideal game for it with the top end Buff. I used a 416 Taylor on those and loved it. It was one of my custom rifles that I helped build. A lovely rifle that shoots really well. Nice mild recoil of around 84 pounds.

There are many that I don?t have and would love including the one you mentioned.

Really sorry about what happened to you guys and with what you all lost. I?d hate to get heated and political here so I won?t get started as we all know the results of this type of thinking.

No.

I do have an outside table though but it sure is not anywhere big enough to stand them around. Remember those were only the Czech?s. I still have several other makes as well.

I shoot competition (not very well, more of a social event) called Big Game Rifle. I have Group 1 (375H&H) and Group 2 (458WM) rifles, both CZ550s by the way, and am considering Group 3. I would like to think I'd get to Africa one day but I'm happy shooting paper for now.

The 375 should handle the buff over here but I don't know anyone with a property up that end of the country. The organised "safari" buffalo hunts here are too expensive (about $8K+ AUD). I have used a mixture of reduced lead loads and normal jacketed in the 458 on rabbits and pigs at least.

I would hope that room is VERY well guarded, quite a lot of time and money in there.

I would hope that room is VERY well guarded, quite a lot of time and money in there.

The NZ firearms regs insist that security is at the top. It?s inspected by the police regularly and in my case would be very hard to get past without the police armed offenders squad knowing.

There is a complete ring of detectors that you have to pass before you get to the room, the room itself is concealed and not obvious that it is even there. When we were building, members of my family went looking for the strong room and could not find it and it?s far less obvious now than then. Once you get past the detection ring and if you could find it, you would be faced steel lined walls, ceilings, floors and doors. Then once inside the detectors will pick you up and monitor all movement while inside. The cameras will also be providing a very nice movie for the police that they will download from an offsite recorder. It?s monitored 24/7 with clear instruction that the police are rung as the first ring of detectors are set off. The next detectors go off before the doors or walls can be forced and the instruction to police is that a firearms strong room is being accessed. If the different alarm systems are not turned off immediately and in the correct order then no cancellation can be made and the estimated arrival time for the police is far less than that expected to force an entry.

On top of all this there are various duress alarms that can be set to silent mode with exactly the response actions as those above. These are setoff either remotely, by auto detection or by the controller. The neat thing with that option is that no-one would know if that was to happen until the police arrive.

And if any were to go missing then the last resort is that every one of them has every identification mark photo?d and data listed including barrel lengths, calibres, and condition etc. At least 6643 photos which are available from six different computers in three different locations, plus the net photos, plus my phone as well.

So? yes I guess  it is VERY, VERY  well guarded

I wonder if he knows the CZ99 isn't Czech?

I think I'll put the VZ59 on my wishlist.

I bet he does. Particularly as it has ?MADE IN YUGOSLAVIA? written on the slide. It?s interesting that the two largest fonts show ?CZ? and ?BRNO?. It appears that this also runs through some of the Yugoslavia models of rifles as well. I wonder if it?s deliberate to try to pick up on the ?CZ? name. Several people have been caught thinking they were connected or the same.

It?s good to see that people are even looking at them. I certainly like to play with them from time to time.

There?s another far larger that is not made by the Czech?s in there as well. In fact this one was made by the British though all early development work was done by the Czech?s.

The 59 is a little different. Not too many cock in the same way as they do. Hope you manage to find one.
