BCA industires CZ 52 mag base plates-update
« on: October 18, 2011, 09:11:14 AM »
Well as you know I bought some mag base plates and found that the fit was poor so I modified them to correct the fit issue, some of you got on me for not contacting the manufacturer, well you were right I should called them . I thought that well I fix this kind of stuff all the time and to me it was not worth the shipping back to them if I could quickly fix it myself. I did not consider that many of you out there who might use this product might not have the tools or skills necessary to do this at home.  Imagine my surprise when yesterday at 6:00 pm est. when I got a call from Joe at bca industries asking for my help in getting the dimensions correct so that those of you out there who might want this product would get ones that fit- I was shocked and pleased this is what you want from a parts supplier one who takes the necessary steps to make sure that when something goes wrong it gets corrected. I brought my 52 and modified mags to work today so that I may contact Joe in Wisconson later today with the dimensions to correct the fit issue. They will be doing another run of the base plates and will send me fresh ones to review and report back to you on the fit. Forum guys Joe reads our posts and whats to make sure that his parts get the job done for us! Brian Ahearn, Easton Firearms Refinishing

This is such a great forum!  Thanks for discussing this issue, Brian . . . and thanks for listening, BCA!

I was actually pretty happy with the ones I got from BCA eBay store.

But if the new ones are a better fit I will certainly buy some more..

Now with the high price of ammo and outrageous military 7.62x25 I will have to reload again. I started reloading it in 1991 using 30 cal mauser dies.

I have 500 brass, but I am also going to load the new 7.62x25 short round. This round is the same as the regular 7.62x25 but length is same as 38 Super round. That way I can shoot 10 rounds from my 1911 Taurus with the J&G 7.62x25 barrell.

Breaststroker... Not to hijack a thread, but are you just setting the bullet in further or do you trim the case as well ?  I have a Star Super Modelo that I am converting to Tok  using a modified 52 barrel as a sleeve and this " short " round idea would save some machining to fit the Tok round mags.  I have 30 Mauser dies for my Broomhandles so I am set for reloading.

The extended floor plates look interesting and I may try one for my CZ-52.
I also have one of their T-33 muzzle breaks for my Yugoslav M57 and like it.

Thanks
Tim

Just going to set the bullet back into the case, there is a huge amount of extra room in the case when you use Red Dot of Unique.

Sent my Tarus PT 1911 and new bbl to a highly recommended gun smith here in Las Vegas.

But I wish I had waited, J&G Sales also has some 6 inch Tokarev Wilson Nowlin barrels with ramps which would be great fun, the extra velocity would be wicked

I shot my CZ52 last week using Fiochi Tokerev FMJs, first shot and nearly every shot dead center. Now I REALLY love my expensive Novak sights,
