Hi guys, I'm new here, but I thought you would probably be the best bet to find out more about the BRNO model ZG47 in 7mmx57 Mauser. There are a few things I'd like someone to help me with...

Fristly: I have owned one of these for about 7 years and I have been using it as a hunting rifle so it has not been kept as a collectors item. It's looking a little bit "used" so to speak. Should I be keeping this rifle as a collectors item rather than hunting with it?

Secondly: I am from New Zealand and I have considered putting it on an auction for $650NZD [$400US] - if someone is able to advise me on whether this rifle model is worth hanging onto I would appreciate it.

Thirdly: Is someone able to comment on the history of the ZG model? And perhaps tell me a little about their "rarity"... How do they rate against other BRNOs?

I appreciate any feedback. For those of you who may be interested to see some more photos of game animals taken with the BRNO ZG47 7x57 go to www.mountainman.co.nz and have a look at the photos. It is my personal hunting website. Enjoy:D

dude, that is awesome and I know its been a long time since you posted but, DON'T EVER SELL THAT RIFLE! I would love to have a real European rifle chambered for 7x57. It is one of the best calibers ever invented. Think of the game you've killed with it.
