P-01 Threaded Barrel
« on: January 18, 2012, 11:08:25 PM »
I have found some old threads regarding EFK threaded barrels, but they seem to be stale.  What's the latest on this topic?  I am about to buy a P-01 and may very well want to make the P-01 my home defense pistol.  This will mean moving my TLR-1 and suppressor from my P229 to my P-01.  Is there a threaded barrel for the P-01 that will make this possible?  I'm interested in a group buy if its time for another one.

The original group buy never had enough interest to actually happen. As far as I know there is no source for a PO1 threaded barrel at this time. You could however send your barrel out to have it threaded or a local reputable gun smith or machinist would be able to do it for you and shouldn't cost too much.

I was in that group buy, last I knew it was a go with more than the minimum quantity in the spring of 2010 and barrels were 90 days away. The supplier didn't ask for funds or follow through.  I have since gone the Tanfoglio route since you can buy long barrels from them and have them threaded.

I contacted EPK separately a few months ago, unaware of the group buy, and inquired about compact size CZ barrels. They replied there was no plans at this time.

Interesting.

So, for the compact guns, would we need to get a full size/length barrel and then get it cut down, recrowned, and threaded? What length would we need?
