That's good information, and good history, but wow Google's translation of technical terms sure leaves a lot to be desired. I puzzled out most of it, but I'd never seen many of those words. Words like "ranivost" are in common usage among hunters in the Czech Republic but the closest I can come to a translation is the notion of terminal energy or muzzle energy or hitting power. The Czech writer seems to use long, windy strings of words to convey concepts we call "fouling" and "propellant gasses," and Google Translate was clueless about both technical uses of those phrases. Of course, I'm lousy at figuring out Czech conjugations....
