Never heard of one being made available.

(It may be more than a "kit," as I suspect some pretty big changes are needed internally to do this.  I doubt that a kit would let you do "cocked and locked," either.)

I think it would be easier and cheaper to buy the gun (CZ110) at the grey market instead, even if such kit existed (and AFAIK it does not).

When I was in the U.S. I met a guy who just bought an M-60 machinegun on the "grey" market.  No kidding, I saw the gun, plus couple of ammo boxes.  Since then I believe that anything is possible there.

No idea what he needed it for - range shooting perhaps?  Or blowing up a truck from a mile away?

Of course I can buy the CZ-110 legally here (and I will do it next year, in the .40S&W variation as my carry gun).

Machine Gun Collectors are a different breed.

They have a big "shoot" in Kentucky in the fall of each year.  Lots of rounds go down range, including those darned .50 caliber BMG rounds that sell for about $1 each (USD).

Its perfectly legal to have a machine gun in the US -- if you've bought the proper licenses.  ($300 for the permit, if I remember correctly.)

You can also have guns with silencers, etc.  The trick is getting the proper permits and licenses.  And bring lots of money.

Because the licenses are expensive and because most people don't know that they're available, the prices of most machine guns are astronomically (and artificially) high here in the US.  Its a seller's market.

Even though... what for?  And I must admit I wouldn't be very happy if people around me had them.

Of course in the Czech Republic we aren't even allowed hollowpoints...  Special permits for full-auto guns exist, but are practically impossible to get.

Your comment about owning/shooting machine guns parallels exactly the thinking of others about GUN OWNERSHIP in general.

So, if others see no reasons for YOU to have a handgun...  I guess you see where that reasoning leads?

I have NO interest in owning (or even shooting) a machine gun -- if only because I couldn't afford to shoot it.

One guy who visits my local [indoor] range has an H&K MP3; he and a friend can blow away several thousand rounds at a range session.   Not for timid or poor.

(I must admint, however, that another fellow came into the range last year with a fully functional Curio & Relic WWII German submachine gun.  It was a marvelous gun, but one that he didn't shoot very often.  It was, strangely, a thing of beauty.

I MIGHT go that route, if I were wealthy.  I do collect curio & relic weapons.)

visit American Shooters Supply & Gun Club, 3440 Arville St, Las Vegas Nevada 89102-8167. (702)362-1223. They rent out full-auto SMGs for use on thier range.  Last time I was in Vegas, I think I spent more money on ammo for a Tommy gun and a Silenced HK MP-5 then I did gambling.

It was serious fun.  They have a Mac-10, the MP-5, Tommy Gun, a Berretta 9mm SMG, and a couple of others for rent

And according to the ATF figures, there has NEVER been a legally owned full-auto machine gun used in a crime.

One of the ranges in the Raleigh (NC) area rents out sub-machine guns.  You must use their ammo.

It is a SERIOUS money-maker for the range owner.

Big dollars are spent on ammo at that range.

It is true that I have trouble trying to concieve a way to use a machinegun in any way other than "fun shooting" - especially a crime :)

Still, we're quite a bit limited when it comes to firearms here, and I might be influenced by that general set of arms.  That's probably one of the reasons I was in a bit of shock when I saw that M-60 :)

By the way... the reason I own my gun is self-defense (fun shooting is a part of it, but for just that I could rent a gun).
I doubt I will ever have a need to defend myself against a platoon of motorised infantry (a MG would come handy then :-)  Still, I didn't say that I would personally stop people from having them, just that it would make me a bit uneasy.  One of the reasons being that AFAIK there is no non-military location here where you could shoot one safe - it's a small country.

The ammo expense on a full-auto must be horrific.  I'm allready feeling uneasy sending bullets down the range with my CZ-75, it's too close to firing real coins :)  The Kadet kit is much of a solution there of course.

Except for fun, probably not...

On the other hand,  there's a guy here in town who owns and flies a Mig-15.   Beautiful aircraft.

And I know two guys who have P-51 Mustangs.

Those are not cheap hobbies.  The values of their airplanes are far, far greater than my net worth.

I appreciate the "shooting coins" image.  Very appropriate.

I have a Swedish Mauser that I shoot from time to time.  The only ammo I can get -- since I don't reload -- is about $.80 a shot, and I've got a Japanese Arisaka (T-99) that is even higher, if I can find it.   And I've got two beautiful little Winchester Model 1903s, .22 autorim (Winchester's first semi-auto rifle) that cost more to shoot than a .40 s&w.

But then, some of my buddies pay $70 for a round of golf, and don't even blink.   (I wouldn't blink either -- I'd just close my eyes!)

Shooting my $.10 a shot (factory ammo) CZ-85 Combat seems like a real bargain.
