I've only had a CZ for a couple of months. Spent most of last year shooting SIG P226s and spent the last 6 months recovering from two shoulder surgeries. Recovery included a lot of rounds from a 22 conversion on my P226 with some frustration. Bought the CZ75B as a backup IPDA ESP gun for my X-5 and then bought a Kadet 22 conversion. The Kadet has been excellent. Shot 650 rounds last weekend and 500 this morning.
But I didn't shoot just slow groups. With the Kadet, I was able to shoot some speed drills using a timer. At our outdoor range, I can set up some white paper (so I can see my sights), then add some 2x2" tape squares for slow group warm up, then some plates to shoot transitions and timed drills. To make it interesting with the 22, I do the drills using 7" plates and shoot mostly at 25 yards, some at 15. For me, hitting 7" plates at 25 yards on a timed sequence is a challenge. Today, draw to first shot was running a little under 2 seconds with 10 shots fired off in 8 seconds with zero down, as fast as 6 seconds with 3 down at 25 yards.
Close up of a good (for me) group
The good thing about this session was that the CZ 22 ran fine, with only a few light strikes out of 500 rounds with a 17 lb hammer spring on CCI Mini Mag 40 gr CPRN ammo. May try an 18 lb hammer spring with this ammo.
Hope to get back to the range on Wednesday for another few hundred 22 rounds, followed by 50-100 rounds of 9mm.
