Over on SGW we have a regular participant who keeps very careful records on every gen he buys from the day he buys it. He keeps it all on a spreadsheet and he can tell you how many rounds he has fired, every day that he has fired the gun, how many rounds he fired each day and any problems he has had with any gun he has owned. He does a lot of shotgunning (about 15,000 rounds per year) so this makes him a very good resource on the reliability of various guns.
He owns 2 CZ-USA shotguns: a canvasback he has had for about 3 years--it has been flawless for over 20,000 rounds. He also has had a 912 for about 1 year and while he loves the gun, it has had problems. Specifically it has broken the hammer twice in a little over 4,000 rounds--both times in the exact same place. As expected, CZ-USA has been great about repairing the problem, but we're trying to track down why this gun is having this problem. We don't have a lot of semi-auto guys over there, so I thought I would ask over here.
One guy over there did own a 720 so we asked him to take it apart and show us a pic of the hammer. He did and it appeared to be the same hammer as in the 912. So we were wondering if the 7 series guns are having problems with broken hammers.
Could the owners of 712 or 720 guns please report if they are having problems with the hammers and roughly how many rounds you have fired through the gun.
Thanks for your help.
