The slide appears to me to have a moly imbedded anti-friction coating that is also common to many modern engine internal components (camshafts etc. that have loading/rub). Looks like its breaking in just fine and wearing in the high points. Nice to have something that works even smoother with more time on it.
I see some do a polish job on this area. I think I prefer the anti friction coating more than the "bling"
