New PCR owner - a couple of questions
« on: March 04, 2012, 10:48:56 AM »
Greeting from Georgia!

New to this forum and owner of a brand new PCR here and I have a couple of thoughts/questions.  My first true CZ. (I had a Tanfoglio Witness clone in 40SW for several years)   I have not yet had a chance to shoot it much yet (less than a mag's worth in the woods/backyard area).  Once I "break it in" I intend to likely carry +P 124 HP (like speer gold dots) in it.   I need to get a good IWB all leather tuckable holster like the K&D Thunderbird I have for my M&P, but K&D is only making pocket holsters these days. (sigh)

1) Concerning the much debated polymer guide rod....I am aware CZ now offers an aluminum guide rod for the PCR/P01.  I don't know, I just like the idea of a metal guide rod.   If I got the aluminum guide rod, would I use the same flat recoil spring that came with the gun?

2) Curiosity: what lb rating recoil spring do the PCRs come stock with (the flat spring)?

3) Magazine end plates.  I had thought about getting the rubber P-01 style end plates, but I have read they can stick to clothing more.  Perhaps best to stick with the stock metal ones for carry?

I just got my PCR yesterday and found that I actually prefer the flat plates.  I will probably bend them a bit though, to keep them from biting my finger too badly.  I did buy five Beretta plastic plates (like you, I decided against rubber due to snag issues) and they are now for sale in the classifieds.

I made it to the range today.  I must say it shoots very nicely.  :)
