Cz range day! 527 luz, vz 58, 452 trainer and phantom
« on: June 02, 2012, 03:36:50 PM »
All I can say is wow!!!!  Went to the range today with my vz 58, 527 lux .223, and 452 trainer. Trainer was pretty dead on with open sights at 50 yds. Then came the 527. Lets just say I need to drift the sights. Everythimg was low left. Windage,is way off. Can't figure why the elevation was so off. Used kentucky windage to some what fix the problem. Wishing I could hit at poa. Then the vz...  First off, I never shot an ak or ar before and just started rifle shooting all together. my first shot was from a seated off hand position at 50 yds with a bushnell trs 25 red dot. Touching the bullseye of an 8 inch rimfire target! The next 39 rds were to the right of the bullseye but still pretty good, all seated off hand. I shot steel tula, and s & b. 20 of each. For me the gun has some kick and a lot of muzzle flip but man she was loud and fun as hell! I didnt do well with the phantom, I assume because I shot so mich rifle rds that day, my phantom is accurate and has about 2 maybe 3 thousnd rds through it now. So one bad day wtih it is no heartbreaker. I also shot a beretta tomcat and bobcat with exceedingly poor results at ten yds.

The vz-58 is a hoot, isn't it! You can look into a new muzzlebreak, but if it's a Czechpoint, it takes a gunsmith to install it.
Did the 527 hit POA before, or is this first range trip? You'll get her figured out.
If I shoot a lot of rifle rounds I can have a bit of changeup difficulty going to sidearm afterwards, too.
Hey, even a bad day at the range beats a good day at work!

Hi armored man, it was a great  trip to the range! Gonna go again soon! It was my first time with both the vz 58 and the lux. I actually got one comment about the beauty of the lux and a comment from another shooter about the coolness of the vz. The vz is a czechpoint model, so I would definately have to have a smith look at it. Just trying to find a crusader brake in stock.

Call Czechpoint directly, in case the website isn't updated - they're swamped with orders right now.
