CZ 85 combat with no scalloping
« on: April 13, 2012, 02:11:21 AM »
Need help Combat gurus.  Have been looking to get my hands on a cz85 combat for quite some time now and I came across an ad in a local site selling what seems to be a satin nickel CZ85 combat.  From the pictures, it doesn't seem to have a firing pin block, seems to be sporting an adjustable rear sight plus it also has the trigger overtravel screw and a round mag release.  What I'm intrigued about is why is there no scalloping on the dust cover and no "combat" engraved on the slide.

Owner claims to have done nothing yet on the gun and his place is quite a ways from me so really don't fancy driving all the way there just to find out it's a frankengun.  Appreciate any feedback on what it is.

It might be a transitional or early model Combat.

When was it built? My '96 has a scalloped slide.
I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.

Now that you mention it, just might be a transitional model alright.  Probably explains why there isn't any Combat marking on the slide.  But the lack of those scallops in front kind of baffles as I don't recall having seen any 75 or 85 variant without the scalloping.

Is there a number in the oval near the ejection port?

I asked about the prod numbers but he says he can't read anymore

I wouldn't be afraid of it.

It could be a rare find. Either way it will probably be a good shooter.
