CZ 527M accuracy report! WOW!
« on: May 18, 2012, 06:09:28 PM »
Finally took my new CZ 527M out to the range!

165 yards using WPA wolf classic 7.62x39mm  124gr. HP    (.72 MOA!!!)

I did have some fliers that I covered while setting the scope. But 3 shots back to back after I cleaned it from firing 40 shots. That Redfield works great BTW.

Also set a 1 gallon jug of water at 275yards hit it 1/2 inch to the left of center and about an inch high!

I did get 3 FTF out of the wolf shooting 60 rounds, all 3 had the firing pin on the primer but no boom....

I shot 20 rounds of hornady zmax and all fired just fine. but not as accurate as the wolf!  :o

NICE! I have zome ZombieMax in 7.62x39mm, but I'm keeping it for nostalgia. :)
Very nice shooting, sir! Is that the Redfield Revolution? I keep trying to get a 2-7 but when I have money, they're always sold out.

Yep, it's a revolution scope in 3-9x40mm. Glad I did not get the 50mm, it would not have fit.

Here's where I got mine and it has free shipping. Glad I got the 40mm and the extra magnification. The reticle is great too. Top of the circle is 100yd, center is 150yd, lower circle is 200yd. Dot below circle is 250yd and the picket tip is around 300yd at full magnification.

The accu range works great. I'll be shooting 450yards on Sunday...should be interesting.

Y'all make me want to buy a centerfire rifle. I currently don't own one.

It's awesome to see your results.  The one I had previously had terrible reliability with respect to ignition.  I even went so far as to put a JP Springs extra power striker spring with no luck.

Accuracy wasn't even close to what you're getting, and I even went out and snatched Lapua brass for the experiment...  Still have the brass, just in case I get the wild hair to try it again.

Okay, went to the range again today and was disappointed to say the least.  :-[

had about a 30% FTF out of 90 rounds fired today. I had to load some of them 3x before they would go boom.

Is that normal? I normally have heard people have problems with 527s on brass cased ammo.

Have not tried brass yet, now I'm worried. I'm going to give CZ a call tomorrow, this is unacceptable for such a high dollar rifle.

To make matters worse, I had about 3-5 MOA at 100 yards now I was not expecting 1/2" groups but 5"????

Might as well have bought an SKS for 1/3 the price and about the same accuracy and less FTF's.

I was on such a high from Friday's shoot and then the rug is pulled from under me.

Hate to say that sound strangely familiar...but that's sounds incredibly familiar.  Mine would fire 100% with Wolf of all things, but not with my Federal primed Lapua brass reloads.  Super infuriating!

I'd say let me know what CZ has to say...not that it'll do me much good now.

I would make sure the scope mount was tight and the rings were torqued to the proper settings.  Something has changed if it was shooting awesome one day and terrible the next.

As far as ammunition goes, I would try some different ammo and see if it makes a difference.  You may have gotten a bad batch of ammo.  I would try different ammo before I blamed the gun.

Well, my shooting i originally posted was from 3 shots, if I fired 10 shots instead of 3 on Friday my results would have been the same as yesterday.

Yes, I'll try different ammo, I sure hope it was a bad batch, problem is it was from 3 different brands. Brass cased is next....
