223 feeding problems

The other CZ site claims that the 223 cartridge does not feed at all well from CZ magazines.  Is that true?

KIW:  My SON and I have several CZ 527`s and two of them are 223 and we have not experienced any feeding problems, on the contray our CZ Rifles feed smother than most any rifle we have. We think very highly of our CZ RIFLES. ken

Good to know.  If I understood the above correctly they didn't think much of the feeding for either the 223 or 308.

Remember, you started a thread asking why people disliked the CZ527. I advised you why someone might dislike the CZ527.

The single column magazine, particularly in combination with the .223 Rem, can cause problems (which are fixable). I also provided some background as to the unplanned (and unintended) adoption of the 5.56x45 experimental cartridge and pointed out that there are also issues with the .308 family, in order to provide greater context.

having owned several 527 s i found the 2 main reasons for poor feeding are 1 the stock is not properly fitted to the action, which causes the trigger guard, mag housing not to mate perfectly into the grouve on the bottom of the action, giving the effect that the mag was to short, with the loading stroke of the bolt passing over the round instead of chambering it. 2 damaged mags this is easily done by simply dropping it or more often using to much force loading the last round causing the mag to spread which has the effect that the round usually sits nose up so when you attempt to chamber it  the bolt again skips over it.  both can be easily sorted.

But my point was that that section of the board wasn't about the 527 but rather about how bad the 527 was.  That seems like a VERY clear indication that the owner of that sight didn't like the 527 at all.

The title is perfectly all right.

If you read the initial thread on that board, you will see that it was a request for help from a person who was having trouble with a CZ527 chambered in .223 Remington.

If you would like GW to change the title, send him a PM request with alternative names.

My 527 in .223 is A-ok but the sights were way off.

I know little of what goes on on the other forum, but all i can offer is I have excellent feeding from my CZ 527M, greatest little carbine I've ever had. Wrong caliber for your discussion, but still excellent.
