ambi alterations....
« on: January 16, 2002, 01:07:07 AM »

Hey, all. Second post here; I was greeted the other day as a new member. See some familiar names here.

Anyway, being a southpaw, and recently enamored of the compact and pcr, I'm wondering if the 85C pieces will fit or work on either of these models. Slide release, safety, even decocker. Short of calling CZUSA, I searched here unsuccessfully. Anyone done this, or know of it's possibility? TIA....

Great Idea...baffled as to the answer.  My best guess is call Mike at CZ...he would be able to tell you about the safety and
slide lock.  I do know changing a Compact to a PCR is a real pain in the arse.  Lots of machining, fitting and such "OH MY",
mostly prohibitive because of cost....
Let us know what you find out...shoot well

An excellent reason to pick up a cz 83 which has ambi controls. The 83 is one excellent pistol that is so accurate it is scarry.
Ambi safeties for lefties like us can be far and few which is another reason I am a fan of cz pistols. The only compact that they have with an ambi safety is the 83.
In the meantime, I am 1/2 way there to get a 40 cal cz pistol which will be either the 75b or the 75sa. Both models have ambi safties in the 40 calibre. With so much good talk about the 85 combat, it will probably be in my future too eventually providing that I don't trade off my pcr for a po1.
