I watched yesterday the whole season of Strike Back spisodes on Cinemax and I noticed to my content that the VZ-58 was used many times for the two stars of the series and on various episodes ... In some , both guns had red dots added and on others it was plain ... some also had railed handguards , while the factory stocks and handguards were also shown ... that means that they are using different guns . I was happy that this wonderful little rifle is having some well deserved fame . A Saiga is also used extensively by one of the Stars ... upgraded with folded stock , railed handguard, etc , not sure what caliber was , perhaps .223 or 7.62x39 . There was also a scene where an SVD is used ... nice... very nice angles shots of the rifle .
Of course , the mighty AR is featured in abundance and one of the things I like about this series is that besides the action , the actual firing of the firearms is very realistic ... just like the real thing ... most of the shooting is done on single or tri-shots ... none of the Hollywood`s fully automatic spray of bullets ... these guys count the shots like the real thing . The AK-47 is , inevitably , carried by all the bad guys , but I enjoyed all the different types , different stocks , muzzle brakes , etc . I also thrilled on the sound of the aKs .
The guys use Sig pistols and M9 Berettas ... I loved it, since I too own both and my favorite pistol for a scenario of SHTF is my M9 , so I spent the whole afternoon and night having a good time . It is just an episode series , but it feature the guns that I like , it is very realistic on the action , so ... I am now a fan .
