Recoil Spring Spo1 Shadow
« on: February 08, 2013, 10:42:16 PM »
Most people seem to use 11# recoil spring in the Shadow. I use a 10#. Is it just personal preference? Any down side to a 10#?

I'm sure not Angus, but: While the recoil spring weight has "side-effects", the purpose of the recoil spring is to accelerate the slide forward enough to reliably "FEED" the next round into battery.  If it does that, it's good-to-go.

The one thing I found with the 10lb spring was when they go "bad" they become to light to reliably close the slide. There for they need to be changed way more often.
I have found that when the 11 Lb goes "bad" its still strong enough to close the slide.
Angus Duhhhh!
