The trigger on this rifle is sweet and I have not even tried to adjust it yet.  I'm actually not going to put a scope on this one.  I like the ball on top of the front sight post.

I decided to remove the scope on mine, and I also left the factory adjustments on the trigger right where they were, as it is perfect. Good purchase, sir! I might add if you reload, mine really like the Berry's 125 grain plated flat point bullet. :)

I reload.  It will be fun working up loads for this and my Remington 799 (Serbian bolt action in 7.62x39).

Isn't it one of those preset triggers?
I mean the one where you push the tigger forward and then have a very short pull to fire the round.

I was already despicable, long before it was cool!

It doesn't say that on CZ's website, but I guess I should read the instructions.  The pull is already light enough, so I can't imagine it being lighter.

That's a carbine isn't it?

According to the website it indeed has the single set trigger.

Push the trigger forward. ;)
I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.

I guess it might help if I read thoroughly.  I'll give it a try.

I love my 527 in 7.62 x 39. I have a fixed 6x scope on mine and the whole rig is very accurate. If you end up using a scope, consider having the shoulder of the bolt handle recontoured by Calhoun so that you can use lower rings. Otherwise you may have to use tall rings to avoid eyepiece-bolt handle contact, and your scope will stand very proud atop the rifle and the cheek weld might not be right. Its the only design flaw that I can see in the rifle.

So I thought that the regular trigger on the rifle was sweet.  That was until I used the set trigger.  The set trigger is incredible.  I'm glad they took the time to adjust it properly at the factory.  It takes a good bit of effort to push the trigger forward, but just a tiny bit of rearward pressure sets it off.  I'll use the set trigger at the range, but not in the field.  It's so light that I wouldn't feel confident about it if I was in a stand.  It also clicks when you push the trigger forward.  A deer would probably be able to hear it.  painter, thanks for pointing that out to me.

Sweet! What kind of $$ are we talking here?

The Zastavas?
I was told $479 to 525$

Now with the ammo rush on x39 Maybe this would be better in .243

Was told the 1st batch came in and is all gone dont know when more show up. In the Meantime I bought a Arg Mauser 1891 carbine in 7.65x53. Scope and sporter bolt. full stock.

I was lucky to get this gun last year as these are no longer available to Canada.  On the plus side, we get a tonne of 7.62/39 ammo cheap from China, just not the selection.  I mostly reload for mine.  The accuracy has only been 1.5 MOA at best.  It sounds like a bedding issue is common.  Sweet gun otherwise.

Nice rifle, Bret!

I'm curious what your experiences with the Remington 799 have been like.

Do you find it a well made and accurate rifle?

I actually have not even shot it yet.  When I first bought it I found that the stock was rubbing the left side of the barrel.  I sent it back to Remington and they did what looks like a real nice job rebedding the receiver.  The action is kind of herkey-jerkey, but not too bad.  It's definitely a nice handling rifle.  I can't wait to shoot it too.

Thanks!

I'd like to see a shootout between the two with lots of pics, if you ever have the time. :D

I'm interested in the Zastava LK M85/ Rem 799 because they make it left-handed.

I gave up on CZ ever making a left-handed 527 Carbine in 7.62x39mm.
