If I had a $400 budget: $100 for the 452 and $300 for the 527.
The 452 won't have the recoil and you won't be shooting much past 150 yards so you can sacrifice some clarity. I have a Centerpoint on a silhouette that works great out to 100. I don't fool with the turrets and I don't max the power. So far maybe 1,000 rounds and all is good. When it breaks, and it will, I'll spend some money on a much better scope, but so far.....
The 527 will have more recoil and you need to depend on it doing a job so ... You also will be shooting at longer ranges and good glass = clarity. It is not all about top end magnification.
Never used the ones you mentioned but I am a big fan of Nikon, Leopold, and Burris. I just picked up a used 3-9 Burris w BDC for $60 and will be using that on a new yote AR assembly so shop around, bargains are out there. Passed on a Nikon buck master 4-16-40 with side focus for $200, should have got it for the silhouette, but didn't think about it.
