CZ452 and Harris compability
« on: May 01, 2013, 11:02:15 AM »
Howdy folks!

I recently purchased a used 452 from German auction site - http://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=4383995&bought=1, not my first CZ but first rifle by them.

I presume im good to go on 25-150yard targets, as it has a Bushnell 6-14x40 scope on it, but i really need a bipod.

Heres my question now, shoul i aim for http://egun.de/market/item.php?id=4383951? Its not its final price yet, but im willing to go quite high. But as this would be my first bipod - is it compatible with the gun? Or would i need some kind of adapter etc?

Without MAJOR modification I doubt that bipod could be made to work on the 452 Trainer, Lux, UL, or FS.  Maybe the UL, but I have my doubts.  Those schnabel stocks have no real flat, or horizontal parts to them, ( a bi-pod would look horrible anyways!)

My suggestion would be to put a Klinsky, or other 3P type stock on the rifle.  There are many bipods which would fit them.

That's my take on it anyway.

Any bipod that mounts on a sling swivel stud will work just fine.

I have a .22LR sniper league going on in my shooting club. Bolt action guns with bipods and supressors. So bipod is a musthave:)

Can i presume, if theres a "swivel" in the product name in their product line, it will sit on my 452? Can i check from picture, if its a swivel-Harris or any other kind?

I could get Harris locally, but its 120 euros or so. From German auction house i could probably nick one half the price, i just have to figure out compability:) Caldwell one i could get with 65 euros, so thats an option aswell..

The bipod will work great! Have one on my Trainer.

The slope of the stock angles the feet up towards the barrel, but there is plenty of clearance.

I add a stock pack to improve cheek weld and eye alignment, works well. The combo of high rings and hogback stock really stretched my neck.

If the price won't hurt you get the Harris. I have a Caldwell, an Outers (needed to file some parts for it to work) and a Blackhawk (worst of the bunch). The differences are subtle and they will all do the job but the Harris is the best one. I have one Harris that is 15? Years old or more, been on lots of guns and lots of trips: keeps on working.

You should have no problems out to 100. After that wind and drop are a real factor but everyone will have the same issues and may the best shooter win! My 11 year old daughter shot these groups at 25yds. (The bottom target was getting her focused to the scope and new gun) With the Trainer,

The stock on your rifle is NICE.

I use a harris bipod on my trainer on and off with no problems. There is no interference with the shnabel fore end.

I have a bipod on one of my Trainers, but it is currently wearing a Boyd's rimfire stock.
