The T3 is a good rifle and is an exceptional value, but the CZ has a single set trigger. With this in mind I chose the 527 along with less plastic  ;)

the single set trigger is a BIG bonus! my muzzleloaders have double set triggers which are basically the same thing and it really does improve accuracy.

tikka offers single set triggers for their rifles as well... if you live in Europe. pisses me off to no end that they don't import tikka t3's with single set triggers. as far as im concerned tikka does lose out to the CZ when it comes to the trigger.

I was lucky to check out both today in person at kittery trading post. The tika was nice for the 650.00 price tag. However the cz 550 had a way nicer checking, a cheek piece that the tika did not have at all and ofcourse the sst. I ran a dollar bill down the barrel between the stock of each and realized I was holding two rifles with excellent free floating. The cz was 780.00 and the wood was a fine grained specimen. However it did have a few handling dings from being on the rack. The cz bolt was not jeweled but was pretty smooth and a little loose typical of the mauser action. The tika's bolt was locked so I couldn't feel the sickness they are reported to process. I also held a savage in 7mm 08 (I Think). The action was pretty nice but again it lacked the beauty of the cz. All in all I would feel really comfortable with any of them in the woods. However the tika was the lightest and seemed like the most utilitarian. I would hate to bang up that cz.
