CZ 40P and Aguila Ammo don't mix...
« on: February 26, 2006, 03:06:33 PM »
After feeding several different types of ammo through my 40P (i.e. - PMC, independent, federal, winchester, etc.) with little or no problems, I came across a couple of boxes of Aguila 180 gr FMJ.  Needless to say, this would be the first and last time I use this type of cartridge...at least in my 40P.  Several FTFs/FTEs after a round count of 250.  Immediately switched to PMC and had zero FTF/FTE issues.  Also went through a couple of boxes of Federal Hydroshocks...no problems.  Went back to the Aguila rounds...numerous FTFs/FTEs just like before.  Definitely not a clean round either.  Anyone else have these issues with Aguila Ammo?

My 40P does not feed Wolff my reloads and other brands seem to be ok.My gun has been sluggish going into battery from the get go.I have polished feed ramp and the chamber it is quite a bit better but still do not understand why Wolff has problems.

Have you tried a little stiffer mag springs?  Just cycling the slide with rounds makes me think that I'll have to install mine fairly quickly.

Wolf ammo is bad news!  I tried it in the past and it left a glue-like residue inside the barrel.  This residue made the barrel hard to clean and shorten the life of the barrel.

Anyone else had the same problem?

Have had feeding problems with wolf  ammo myself. From now on its Walmart for plinking ammo. I can buy white box Winchester or CCI balzer brass for the same price.

Mine failed to feed EVERY time with the Aquila Ammo. I would definitely not recommend it. Round would hang on the feed ramp.

Wolf ammunition is good for AK47'S and other russian made rifles like Saiga. I highely reccomend not shooting it through a new gun. One it is very dirty, and two it has steel casings. Steel is under a lot more preassure then brass. It will decrease the life of your barrel.
