TS safety question
« on: October 04, 2013, 06:21:13 AM »
I put a wide left side safety (CZC) on my TS and now you can engage the safety with the hammer down. You couldn't before. Did I do something wrong? The safety works and the gun operates fine.  It just bugs me a little that it's different now.

Hiya SDM and thanks for starting the thread, and I'm sure the "experts" will chime in ta let you know what ta do to not have it do it anymore. I have a p series witness that is da/sa and does it from the factory, and like that feature with a da. Of course its useless in a SA with the hammer down. My TS's let the safety be engaged at half cock, and if you pull the trigger it will drop the hammer, dont know if it can discharge a round with that distance to travel tho. As ya mentioned that the safety and gun operates fine, my guess is you can leave it be, interesting ya found that lil querk. Be well.

Schmeky and Stuart discussed this on another thread re Shadows.
Don't do it was the warning.   It might be possible the bigger safety lever has more leverage.  The safety is only to be used in the " fully cocked and locked position"
