CGW Ring Hammer Installed
« on: October 19, 2013, 10:38:14 AM »
Wanted to post a quick pic of the new Ring hammer installed on an SP-01.  The hammers upper loop has sufficient clearance for use with over hung sights.  Since the corners of the top ring are rounded and blended, this hammer would also be an excellent choice for concealed carry applications as well as range and competition use.  This hammer dropped in at 3.4 lbs. and breaks like frozen lettuce.  Looks really good too!

Just ordered the decocker version for my PCR carry gun that I'm tuning. Can't wait!
As usual David was super helpful in speccing out the parts list for my carry project.
I'll post a review once I get it all dialed (black aluminum grips too).

This is on my Cajun Gun Works want list!

Will this hammer fit/work on the CZ 75 Compact (steel) 9mm? Any problems installing it? Instructions? What can I expect on a bone stock Compact?

Can you comment on which hammer is easier to de-cock, less chance of thumb slippage?

Ring vs Race?

Thanks

I think it depends what you are using the pistol for.
I installed a race hammer on my 75 BD since that is my target gun.
I put in a ring hammer my PCR since it is my EDC. Both purchased from CGW.

The ring hammer I've installed is on a decocker so no need to grab it but in manually doing it compared to the race hammer on my SP-01 Shadow I'd have to say there is more purchase on the ring hammer. The opening in the hammer is bigger and gives a place for your thumb and finger to "pinch" into.
