97b arrived today
« on: December 10, 2013, 07:06:22 PM »
I picked up my new CZ97B today from my local gunshop. I am very happy with it so far. I have only had time to put 10 rds through it five 185jhp Win 231 5.8 and five 230jrn Win231 5.2  No problem feeding either the hp or the rn bullets. I had CZ custom replace stock trigger with a SA flat trigger. I was a little nervous about what to expect,I am used to good triggers both my Wilson and Sig P210 have excellent triggers. I can honestly say the CZ's trigger is as good or better than my Wilson or Sig. Beautiful trigger, Cz Custom did a very very good job. Best money I have ever spent on an upgrade. Hats off to CZ Custom. With the thin grips it did not feel too big to me. Look forward to getting more range time.

Put 100+ rounds through it today. All reloads half round nose half hollow points, no malfunctions of any kind. Love this gun!!  :)

Picked up the same on Saturday. Shot the left grip off. Took it home, loctite applied to both grip screws, doubt it will happen again. I think this is an inherent problem with aluminum grips on steel guns with no washers, so you may want to check that out.

How does it compare to your 1911, size wise, especially the grip?

I think with these grips it's thinner or as thin as a 1911, the issue is depth since the .45 is a big round. Side by side with my SP01, the 97 has thinner grips.

Can't wait to get home from vacation and put another 100 or so rounds through her. Amazing pistol and great factory sights.

On your second pic, it looks like the 97B with the aluminum grip is thinner than the 1911.  Is that correct?

Also, how is the trigger reach between the two?  Which one has shorter reach?

Hey defla's son again. We found that the 1911 has the shorter trigger reach from the back of the grip to the trigger. the 97 is slightly thinner then the 1911. Hope this helped.  :D Happy new year!!
