rubber bumpers not working in a CZ 75 B?

Today I received my shipment from shop-cz.com for my 75 B: SP-01 slide stop, rubber magazine bases and the bumpers. The slide stop works perfectly, the three magazine bases took a minute to install.
I?m a bit clouless about the bumpers, though. http://www.shop-cz.com/set-of-buffers-3-pcs-wide-2-pcs-narrow/d-71191/ I swapped from plastic to steel guide rod and tried the thin bumpers on the rod/below the spring. As a result the slide would not lock back manually. Would it lock back when a round is fired? Not that the CZ has a fierce recoil - I just wanted to try while I?m there ...

What made you think you needed shock buffs? 

I've never heard of using shock buffs on a CZ, but I'm somewhat new to them, so...

Main thing is if CZ thought they were needed they would be an OEM part.

Failure to lock is caused by coil lock. Once the coils are touching each other there is no more room for the slide to move. In order to use the buffer the spring must be shortened by the amount of space taken up by the buffer.

Shock buffers are an oem part if you buy a cz 75 tactical sports in 40 s & w.

I've noticed that when I shoot lower power rounds (under 165 power factor say) then the buffer seems relatively untouched. But when I shoot ipsc major rounds at around 180 power factor it takes a real hammering.

I guess that means you probably only need one when shooting higher power rounds. It is obviously protecting the gun if it's taking such a beating.

75Plus and Lemming: Thank you for your input. I had swapped the recoil spring rod from stock plastic to metal and just purchased the pack of buffers while I placed an order with the CZ shop in the Czech Republic. For 5 Euro it was worth a try. I must have a look into my CZ funds to see if I got a spare recoil spring. If so, I could shorten the spring installed now and try again.

If the power is the factor, should the 97 have a buffer ?  I will have to ask the CZ 97 "Whisperer"
