Sphinx SDP
« on: July 20, 2014, 11:59:48 AM »
A store online has them for $888.00 good price for that gun but seriously worth it stilllllll??

I know I'm not gonna buy it I'm just curious.. I have watched a few video reviews and seen the gun feild stripped and they always claim to be machined works of art?? Well compared to whAt?? Lately cz has been kinda rough IMO
But my p120!!! Woo woo that thing is machined amazingly!! The sphinx looks similar for 4-5 times the price...

So who can tell me otherwise, who owns one, what am I missing and ignorantly criticizing.. I wanna be wrong but I don't think I'm far off lol

I know I read that as well!!!

I just don't see what's so special about them but then again I'm ignorant to all that they are, at face value I feel I'm missing something..

I think the 3000 is gorgeous and would love to have one but for $3k I'd be more inclined to buy and czechmate and still have money left over for a sweet dot and a few extra mags!?!?

I use to love to give companies my money to be unique but have grow outta that phase thank god lol

The way I see it, this is sort of the Timex vs Rolex debate.  Either will work well, but the former may be off by just a hair you won't even notice.

That the Sphinx is well made is a given, but that it's higher quality translates into an on-range advantage over Pistols of lower price point, is doubtful.

I get along just fine with my Tanfoglio, Canik, and SAR Pistols, and they produce all the accuracy and reliability I could ever want!

I agree with your post 99.9%

The only thing I'm not seeing is this over the top craftsmanship, I am only seeing videos so maybe I'm missing something in person...
But where I'm going with this is my canik p120 is a machined beauty! Prob the nicest of any of the 75 platform guns I've handled, witness, cz, sar and canik...

I'd really like to fondle one for an hour or two after a nice dinner and some drinks ;)
