sear spring
« on: March 25, 2014, 08:04:48 PM »
so I am bluing the cz 83 and when I go to reassemble it I know I will get to the dreaded sear spring. I read that u have to get it in the groove or notch. not seeing it. is the point of the spring going in the notch that I have circled in the pic. the yellow is a toothpick holding the auto safety and extractor.

geen had a thread on CZ82 sear spring tribulations that contains links I have found useful at http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=39189.msg217226#msg217226.

With patience and perseverance you can do it!

Yikes!  That was three (3) years ago - I feel old.

The external link no longer works, but check out the pictures of the home-made tool(s) for sear spring installation.  Hope it helps.

As usual, I suggest you look at Sailor Curt's excellent disassembly/reassembly series starting at sailorcurt.com/2008/04/cz-82-gunsmithing-part-1.html/? (I can't point you at the right page for the sear spring install because I'm getting an error from his web host at the moment).

The safety rattles? Humm.
