SAR B6P compact rear sight
« on: April 19, 2014, 01:02:05 AM »
My piston shoots to high and to the right. I can live with the high for now, but the shooting to the right is not cutting it. I tried to drift the rear sight but it will NOT move. Are these things glued in place or what?

You will need a steel punch and hammer to move the sight and a vise and leather  to protect the slide when it is mounted in the vise. i have an addititional rear sight that can be fitted to the B6 Poly pistols I am finishing another poly B6 today. I will try to have pics up of all three that I have modified sights on by Mon - Tues.

What's the sight look like after getting whacked with a steel punch? Doesn't it mark it all up?

I was using a brass rod and a 2 lb hammer. I  have never had a sight stuck like this before. It never did move. Going to have to make or borrow a sight pusher. I really want to see your front sights when they are ready. At 10 yards it is shooting about 3"s high so I will need a higher sight. Is this something you are going to offer, or are you going to offer just the factory height?

When you use your brass punch it leaves some brass on the sight I ussually put several layers of masking tape on my brass punch when using them to drift the sight. I told him to use a steel punch because I have removed enough of these sights to know that Sar really puts them in tight. I just finished another Sar sight job this weekend using a different setup on a Sar b6 poly full size. I will put up some pictures showing the different types of sights that we have installed so far on Sar pistols. All shot to point of aim yesterday for IDPA practice.
