Less than $255 delivered to your local FFL looks like a real good deal to me if your CZ83 is in nice shape.  I paid $245 delivered in June 2013 for a decent one off of GunBroker.

I already had a couple of CZ82's and wanted a CZ83 to take advantage of the .380 ACP ammunition I was seeing available for sale on the shelves.  They are well made small pistols at a reasonable price.  Remember when shopping for magazines that the 9x18mm Makarov CZ82 and the 9x17mm (.380 ACP / Caliber 9 Browning) CZ83 magazines are interchangeable / the same.

I am confident you will be well pleased with your purchase.  Share some pictures of your CZ83 when you get it in hand.

Will do il.bill.  Thanks for sharing the pic of your CZ 83.   I will be very happy if mine shows up in the same shape.  And thanks for the info on the magazines, that is good to know.   I will pass along a pic as soon as I have it in hand.  Again, thanks for the feedback.

Okay, I just received my CZ 83 last Friday, got the opportunity to shoot it on Sunday.  First off, I got it from iAmmo.com for 211.99 plus $43 and change shipping and handling, plus $20 for my FFL.  Around $270 total.  When I can figure out how to post pictures I will because what I got I would grade as 95% plus.  Very little signs of wear.  The inside of the barrel was black, it now shines.  The exterior of the pistol is everything I had hoped for.  I hate to say that you should buy one because if I can come up with the cash I would buy a second and I want there to be some left.

Came with one mag.  Took it to the range and put 39 through it (we shot other handguns also).  I can't say 'nothing but bulls eyes' but then I am a relative newbie but every shot found the target.  I was totally impressed by everything about this weapon.  While I paid $270 I feel like I received a nearly brand new pistol.  I needed a CZ fix and now I have it.  I couldn't be happier.

I took some very good pics with my Samsung phone but can't seem to figure out how to get them here.  Take a look at the picture posted by il.bill and you will see the quality of what I received.  I figured I would re-blue if needed but it is not needed.

I am now truly in the CZ community and now must figure out how to convince my better half that a CZ 82 is critical to the growth of our family.  Wish me luck.

Oh, and because it came with one mag I just ordered two off of Wideners for a total, with shipping, of $59.  Not the cheapest mags in the world but not the worst by any means.  I just need more to ease my trips to the range.

And when I find that CZ 82 that joins my arsenal I will have mags that go both ways.

I have heard those mags from wideners have a CZ stamp on the bottom. Are these authentic mags?

If you're talking about the magazines which have "CZ mfg" stamped on the bottom, no - they are not made by ?esk? Zbrojovka - Uhersk? Brod nor by CZ-USA. The real ?Z never put any such mark on any of their products. These magazines (and you'll see them in various calibers) are some kind of North Korean or Outer Mongolian or some-such after-market junk. And I do mean junk!   >:(

I just picked up a CZ 83 purchased off of Gunbroker.com for $209 + $19 shipping. After some easy cleaning up and replacing the grips it came with, I took it to the range. I like how it shoots, it's about as accurate as my other gun, a Canik 55 - Shark FC. Both have smooth triggers, the Shark trigger is heavier, the CZ83 is about twice the reset distance. The CZ jumps less, stays on target better. I bought it looking to refinish it but it cleaned up so nice I just might leave it alone. The CZ 75 rubber mag base fit the Shark with a little slotting work on the hole but it fit the 83 straight up. I ordered two $19.95 mags not knowing they were junk. They don't release right but they do work. I had one FTE today with a junk mag. I've already ordered one of the better mags.

Canik Shark FC 9mm
CZ83 .380
Jericho 941 FS 9mm
Jericho 941 FS .45

Sig M11-A1 9mm
Sig SP2022 9mm
Kimber Custom II .45
Walther P38 9mm
Rossi 38 Spcl.

I picked up one of the ex-Israeli 83's in electroless nickel from Cole's recently. Great condition with little wear for $210.00+ Transfer. Well worth the money in my view. Rounded out a trio so have all three cals. now. These are sweet shooting pistols and even at $300.00+ are a good deal.
