Sights for P01?
« on: August 22, 2014, 09:44:34 PM »
Hi all,

I received my P01 this week and love the pistol!  It feels great and I'm much more accurate with it already than I ever was with my Glock.  I love the look of the gun, the controls and the fact that it is all aluminum/metal.  The recoil control seems easier for me than with my Polymer pistol.

I've put 320 rounds of mixed ammo (remington UMC, S&B, PMC Bronze and Speer Gold Dot) over two range sessions and unfortunately had one FTF within the first 100 rounds.  Not sure if it was weak ammo, just break-in needed or maybe limp wrist.  It seems to be running well now and I hope it stays that way.

In any case - I'm having a hard time picking up the sight picture quickly (from ready to fire position) using the factory sights.  Can you recommend a set of sights?  Also, while I like the tactile feel of the rubber grips I find the trigger reach in DA barely tolerable.  Can you recommend any thinner grips that might improve the reach?  I'm thinking perhaps a wood grip versus the aluminum version because I like the look.  The p01 is my primary home defense/self defense firearm.  Thanks - happy to be in the CZ club!

Congrats on the New P01!

As far as sights go I really like my Meprolight night sights that I bought from Cajun Gun Works for my Carry Pistol ( a CZ75 Compact) and For my other CZ's I use Cajun Gun works E/Z Drift Sights. Both sights are very superior to the factory sights.

Welcome in from the Dark Side.  Good to hear you are shooting your new CZ so well.  Sorry to hear about your lone FTF.  I hope you noted which ammo and which magazine it occurred with.  Did you clean your mags?  All my mags have arrived with a fair amount of sticky gunk in them.

My VZ Frags on my Compact are noticeably thinner than the stock grips, enough so that I modified my grip to be more comfortable and secure.  I didn't have a problem reaching the trigger, so can't recall if that changed much.

congrats on the P01~!

One other thing you could consider besides grips to decrease the reach in double action is the reach reduction kit from cajun gun works (RRK)

best of luck
