Pre-Tristar Canik Parts
« on: August 08, 2014, 11:10:56 AM »
I contacted Canik55 about obtaining parts for my pre-Tristar S-120.
Their quick response looks promising.

I have an older S-120 pistol and it is a very fine pistol. Is it possible to obtain parts from you here in the U.S.? Your current importer, Tristar, will not sell parts to me for a non-Tristar imported pistol.

Thank you very much,

Robert

It would not surprise me in the least if it's easier to deal with a Turkish company halfway around the world than it is to deal with their importer. Seems like the importers often couldn't care less, whereas the manufacturers are much more interested in making people happy and spreading the good word about their brand.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's also easier to deal with SAR or Tanfoglio rather than EAA. One definitely-confirmed example outside of clones is Grand Power- I've seen multiple reports of getting a friendly Slovak on the phone...but getting help from Century? Ha.
