Heinie #365P
« on: August 10, 2014, 09:47:23 AM »
I'm wanting to send my PCR off to CZ Custom Shop to have a new set of sights installed.  I really like the sights on the SDP and was wanting the same on my pistol.  Would the Heinie#365P be the rear sight I need?

Sure looks like the one.  Wonder if CZC had to mill the slide for it?

I believe so, I sent more than my fair share of questions to Stuart about upgrading to the SDP package.  :-X   The sights eat up a good chunk of the cost, I believe because of the milled slide.

That being said, I'd dump my Compact L in an instant for an SDP P-01.

I've looked on the Heinie website and I'm not finding a lo mount dovetail only the ultra lo mount (#365P) which I posted a link to.

Same thing, also known as a "Novak" dovetail cut......but Heinie doesn't want to use another competitor's name.  That is a very common cut for sights on 1911s and that is what CZ Custom is using when they mount non-CZ sights on the slides, in addition to the LPA/TRT adjustable sight which is another different slide cut.  You could basically fit any rear sight that uses a "Novak" cut, but would to adjust the height of the front sight to get the POA/POI correct.

Look at the sight they use on the PCR PRO-TEK 1, it is adjustable for height only, but still uses a Novak cut.  Pretty sure that is made by Kensight, a leading OEM sight maker, but Stuart would have to confirm.
