75 Compact Alloy Safety
« on: August 16, 2014, 12:27:47 AM »
I probably already know the answer to this but figured it's worth asking. I'm one of the lucky owners of one of the compact alloy framed guns and I'm trying to acquire a few parts for reserve. The slide stop from the PCR should work as the frame appears to be the same width at that point but being a de-cocker, the PCR safety won't work. Does anyone know of a safety from any other model that will work in this alloy frame? That's the only part I can see that doesn't seem to have an equivalent part in another CZ model. Any suggestions? Maybe from one of the poly framed guns?
Thanks,
Guntoter

I have no idea if it will or not, but I wonder if a Rami safety will work since it also has an alloy frame?[emoji53]

Good idea but I'm pretty sure the RAMI is a bit thinner than a regular frame and the alloy is thicker. I've never seen one in person but from pics it looks too thin. An 85 ambi safety should have a long enough pin to reach the right side of the frame but whether the critical parts will line up I don't know. If it will all it would need is the shaft trimmed and finished but I suspect there would be mis-alignment elsewhere.

I would contact CZ Custom and ask what safety they used on the Compact L. It is an alloy frame with a safety. They may have used the left side of a 85/sp 01 safety. Then cut down the extra to fit flush on the right side of the frame.

Try fitting a TS safety.shaft should be long enough. Will need to modify the pad

Thanks for the input guys. I appreciate it. Glad to see they're not $80.00 apiece:).
